Web 2.0 technologies For Primary Pupils

For the past 8 years many Web 2.0 technologies were developed and are constantly evolving with the growth of technology in general. Web 2.0 is the new word in the educational environment at the present stage of life. This term was introduced by Tim O'Reilly in 2005 at a conference on the study of new technologies [1].

We hold the view that the term "Web 2.0" (pronounced "web, two point zero") was conceived to describe a new breed of websites that use newer web authoring tools, are low learning curves (for the user) and support a collaborative environment [1].
Web 2.0 technologies offer a dynamic, constantly developing, interactive web platform that provides free and open access to diverse participants. As a result, Web 2.0 promotes:
• individual and collective performance,
• creativity and interaction with information published on the Internet,
• multimodal interpersonal, group and public communication,
• active participation,
• higher level of joint training and cooperation,
• foreign language communicative environment,
• social networking that provides for a sense of connectedness and relationship [1].
Using Web 2.0 technologies in elementary school during teaching foreign languages is very important. This process greatly improves the quality of the lesson and mastering the subject by pupils.
Do not forget that younger pupils need some speakers to meet their needs. Their development depends on music, gestures, movements, colorful graphics, interesting characters of the cartoons, one word – visual aids. So, people create special sites where primary school pupils can fully open up, express their imagination, demonstrate skills and, consequently, get high scores.
For example, children can create interesting video. Easily and efficiently they can create it on a website Xtranormal (http://www.xtranormal.com). On this site primary school pupils can choose the main actors, write the text that will express heroes movie, choose the location of actors , choose subjects of his movie, pick the right gestures and movements that will serve them, creating images of the video.
Voki (http://www.voki.com) – a speaking avatar, you can use it to speak your text, present the project or task, comment on your work. Younger pupils can use it as listening comprehension texts at the lessons of foreign languages in elementary school.
Blabberize (http://www.blabberize.com) makes your uploaded photo to speak moving the mouth in time to the speech, records or uploads your audio. With it you can also express the texts, present the project or task, comment on your work.
PhotoFace (http://host-d.oddcast.com) uses your own photo or avatar, uploads your audio, records directly or uses texts to speech for your personal message. Great for giving feedback to students.
English Sentral (http://www.englishcentral.com) provides interesting stories for listening with interesting video clips, helps to practice speaking English, learn new words and improve your pronunciation with a funny and effective new way.
